These are Potrafke family genealogies in which I have collected information on during my research. I started doing this about ten years ago, and when I began I didn’t know the first thing about doing family research, so I would go to different places and just write down or copy every piece of Potrafke information I could find and take it home. To my regret, I am still going through information I got years ago! And of course, the beginning findings are not properly documented, so some of my sources from the beginning of my research are not entered correctly. |

I have been trying to clean up my Family Tree Maker files, as I did not know in the beginning that documenting sources was so important. But finally, after much research on doing research, and after talking to other people who were doing research, I realized I was supposed to be documenting not only what I found, but where, when, and how I found it! Luckily, most of the research I did was from the things my grandparents left and from local resources that I could remember because I had been there so many times doing research and could go back and see if that is where the information came from.
So I must apologize for the sloppy way I started out doing my research. This started out as a very interesting and very fun hobby for me, and has turned into much more… it is now a goal in life for me! |
