"This branch of the BOWRING Family descends from the John BORING Family; John BORING being the ancestor who died in Baltimore, Maryland in October 1690.  It appears that some members of the BORING Family changed the spelling of the name to BOWRING in the mid to late 1800’s.
Text Box: Boring Tombstones Text Box: I am posting this website to share my BOWRING/BORING Family information, photos, knowledge, etc. I hope I can get more information regarding this line of my family, as well as helping others with what I have collected over the years. The more I find out about my ancestors, the more fulfilled in life I feel. This is an ongoing journey that will hopefully continue for many years to come for me. I was very close to my paternal grandmother, who’s mother was May Bowring, which brings a special closeness to this line of my family. She and my grandfather are the reason I have become so interested in learning all I can about my family history. They kept everything! About ten years ago, I asked my dad if I could have the journals and records that my grandparents records had left behind after their deaths and he gave them to me. BOXES and BOXES of journals, pictures, financial records, education records, letters her brothers had written to her during the war, and all kinds of things! The more I read and went through, the more interested I became in my family history… this is what began my search which has been never-ending! Please feel free to use anything I have posted on this site. All I ask is that you please respect any living people, please do not profit from anything from my site, and if you use my information please post where you got it.
